✨ Issue 7. HBD TCF, farewell to our future Midas List member, TCF updates & community-driven company resources
A monthly newsletter for community-driven founders, funders, and friends.
Welcome to The Community Fund’s Newsletter. The Community Fund is an early-stage fund that invests in community-driven companies. To learn more about TCF, visit our site here.
Today’s issue is extra special. It’s our birthday and Lolita Taub, Co-founder, and GP of The Community Fund and future Midas List member, will be going off to do great things! While we always knew this day would come and we’re feeling excited for Lolita, we are feeling sentimental because she’s a wonderful human being and venture capitalist.
The tea
At the heels of the pandemic last summer, Jesse and Lolita set out to build a fund to bring the best operator-investors together to back the most awesome community-driven founders and produce outsized returns at The Community Fund. In a years time, we built a community of 13 brilliant operator-investors, made 28 investments, achieved 9 valuation increases, and made a new set of friends that double-up as the leaders in our space who are reshaping the narrative of who VCs are, where we invest, and what kind of companies become unicorns.
We built a wonderful community and along the way, we all learned a ton about what works, what doesn’t, and what makes us tick. These experiences combined helped us grow as a community and as individuals. And that’s what gave Lolita the confidence to step away from The Community Fund to continue on her path in the venture world.
Although we will miss her, Jesse, our Flybridge LPs (Chip, Anna, Jeff), and all of us at The Community Fund family will continue to be supportive as Lolita trailblazes ahead. We’re excited to see her soar and to continue co-investing with her, as she opens up a new chapter in her VC career. One day she’s going to be on the Midas List! Of that we are sure.
And, in terms of what’s next, TCF will continue under Jesse’s leadership and Lolita will continue to be here for the community. We’re grateful for that and for our TCF family.
